SHAW BACK FOR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CLASH

New Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has revealed that Luke Shaw is in contention to face Young Boys in the final Group F game for the two teams. Rangnick is the interim manager at Old Trafford until next summer and he would be in the Manchester United dugout for only his second game since his appointment at the start of last week.

In his first game as Manchester United manager, Rangnick watched on as Brazilian international Fred scored the only goal in the 77th minute to propel histeam to a 1-0 homeĀ  win over South London club Crystal Palace in what was a Premier League match.

Ahead of the Champions League clash with Young Boys on Wednesday night, Rangnick faced the media on Tuesday and he revealed that Euro 2020 finalist Shaw has recovered from concussion and that he’s in line to be in the squad for the visit of the Swiss champions. Shaw was an important member of the England team that finished second at the Euro 2020 tournament held this summer. He was the left-hand for England manager Gareth Southgate throughout the Euro 2020 tournament as the Three Lions played six of their seven games on home soil with the only exception being the 4-0 thrashing of Ukraine in a quarterfinal clash played at the StadioOlimpico in the Italian capital of Rome.

Apart from Shaw, Rangnick also revealed that his international teammate Jesse Lingard is fit after missing the Crystal Palace game on Sunday. Lingard was not in the squad for the slender win over the Eagles.

On his starting XI for the Young Boys encounter, German manager Rangnick said that he has not decided on his starting team and that he’s keen for the run to continue. He, however, said that Dutch midfielder Donny Van De Beek and English goalkeeper Dean Henderson will start the game.
