RASHFORD ON TARGET IN BIG WIN

England international Marcus Rashford was on target as his Manchester United side recorded a big win over arch rivals Liverpool to reignite their season in the Premier League. The Euro 2020 participant was the recipient of the winning goal at the end of the game involving two of the biggest teams in English football. Rashford was part of the England squad to the Euro 2020 tournament as the Three Lions finished as runners-up. It must be pointed out that the Manchester United forward has rarely featured for his country since the Euro 2020 and he would be hoping to maintain his form with the World Cup tournament in Qatar a few months away.

Rashford and his Manchester United teammates were heavily criticised in all quarters after they lost their first two league games of the season. Three-time European champions Manchester United have been handed a big boost on the injury front following the news that England international Marcus Rashford has returned to full training after a long layoff. Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed the news in his pre-match presser ahead of the Premier League clash with Everton at the Theatre of Dreams this weekend.


Solskjaer informed reporters that Rashford has returned to full training after the English forward underwent shoulder surgery in the summer. Rashford had to go under the knife shortly after helping England to the Euro 2020 final so as to correct a long-standing shoulder problem. Rashford was one of the three attackers who missed a penalty having been subbed on as a substitute as Italy beat England 3-2 during the penalty shootout to win the Euro 2020 tournament. The two countries had to settle for the dreaded penalty shootout after their Euro 2020 final clash ended in a 1-1 draw in 120 minutes. Apart from Rashford, Arsenal star Bukayo Saka and fellow Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho also missed from 12 yards out in the colours of the Three Lions during the Euro 2020 final.
